#empty promises

Casted Aspersion Politician

We have been an abbreviated piece of nothing,
And for five years you've wasted our resources and time,
And this is when you're reaching out for us.
Don't chin up,
Neither should you cover your tracks,
You can cross fingers,
Maybe luck may come your way.

Let's call a spade a spade,
You were a calculted risk,
And among demons you were the only angel,
Hence we trusted you.

It's time to call your bluff,
And we will call names
For we're dying of poverty
Leave alone insecurity and raped hope.
We will call the shots,
And even though you'll beg
Deaf ears will be yours.

We can't fight a city Hall,
But with us lies the powers now,
We call the tune,
Hence no vote for the corrupt.

Now you come with the cap in hand,
Thinking we've forgot the promises,
That we may give you another Chance,
To represent your needs instead of ours.

We have carte blanche,
And this time we ain't joking,
For we will raise a saint from us,
Who upholds humanity and dignity,
And he will carry weight,
And we hope he will carve out a niche,
For the betterment of us all.
