She stood by the shore,
The cool breeze had her freezing,
But her thoughts were too far gone to feel,
She felt confined in her own life,
More than often she felt lonely,
She always felt the dismissive glances and hurtful words,
She wasn't sure anymore what hurt the most.
She buried herself deep,
In a blanket of self-hate,disguised as fear and pain,
As the waves hit,
She clawed to escape, she longed for freedom,
Despite the beauty of the clear water,
She knew that deep down in the sea,
Sharks were awaiting just to devour,
As she drowned herself in sweet degrading self worth,
Only then did she wish for any camouflage,
Then maybe she could squeeze through the crevices,
Anchor herself deep in,
Only then will she have a feeling of security.
But the sea weed seemed to be chocking her,
The whispers got too much,
The sheltered eyes perceived of its beauty,
But those who look deep within,
Will see the unending turmoil,
Only those fighting the battle will see through,
Clearly see the lurking demons,
The struggle within one self.
She held on to herself,
The pills promised her sanity,
It promised her of a clear mind,
Free of her demons,
But filled with darkness,
But she knew it was all a lie,
Thinking...she'd would rather be insane,
Even if the truth hurt so much,
She will deal with it,.
She always does,
They say it gets better,
But it only got worse,
She only had herself to hold to.
Her once pure skin,
Was now filled with jagged scars,
Blood poured from every opening but no one could see it,
She was now the girl with unending pain,
She was the girl with a weak heart,
Her life always a pile of cards,
Dealt cards.
