For Luanda

Son,
Forget English Legends,
Myths of men of metal and mettle,
Listen Son.

Let me tell you of Luanda,
A man of strength unmatched,
Slayer in battle,
Lover at home,
Hard as rock,
With a name to prove.

Stood in the mid day sun,
Below him, his shadow,
Sent fear and regret to the enemies,
Towered above all pride,
Matched forward,
Spears,
Arrows,
Anything sharp feared him,
And veered off his skin,
Son,
Every mountain has a slope,
And his was his shadow,
He gave his love to a woman,
And his secret too
Led to his fall.

But,
Son, remember this,
We don't remember the woman's name,
Luanda stays with us in our hearts,
Be a legend,
And a legend you will remain to be.
