In The Dark.

Darkness is the only thing that understood her,
Listened to her pain,
Embraced her scorched being unconditionally,
Buried her secrets,
Soon she and the ghosts of the dark became companions.

Slowly she gave rise to the girl they now call a monster,
A girl that never cared for whatever reason it would be,
Inside her soul,
Her then dark dungeon-like soul,
She had found freedom.

She was herself,
Letting go of her fears,
None of stances would divert her thinking,
She was finally free,
Freely flowing like a river to destination unknown,
Forever she would be the shinning dark heart.

A wonderful write which demonstrates how one's pain, can cause them to withdraw so deeply, they could possibly become enamored with their darker side.
