Memoirs

Am screaming

So loud but no one can hear

Am crying

Muffled sounds as tears roll down my cheeks

Am broken; shattered

The pain’s intensity won’t let me breathe

Where did I go wrong?

Why am I good at destroying?

Destroying every priceless gift.

You said you loved me

I felt loved,

You didn’t even require words for assurance

Each time you held my hand

I knew you got my every move

Each time you held me tight

I felt warm and safe

Look at me now

All alone

No calls

No text

Misery and loneliness engulfs

I can’t believe it’s over

In the blink of an eye

My life has turned from smileys to crisis

I might get on track

It will take a while

But before I shut my mind from the possibilities

Tell me

Will you ever be back?

Will you ever come knocking at my heart?

Will you ever show me love?

Well, in case you do

Don’t take too long

I might just find myself in other arms

Even if only rebound.
