Someone who expects no angel in me
But copes with the occasional devil within,
I want someone with a past of her own,
Someone who has kissed princes and jerks alike,
Someone who knows the beauty of mistakes
And the magic of experience
Someone who has nursed scars and held no grudge.
I want to fall in love with a someone,
Someone I can walk with at the edge of cliffs,
Someone I can trust to tie my bunjee rope
And allow me to tie her blindfold at a shootery,
I want to lend her my heart and never take it back
Because she takes it as hers,
And protects our love with faithful transparency.
I want someone who will love me
Not use me to decorate her social walls,
Someone who will keep what we share sacred,
Still, someone who will joke with me
Someone whose opinion will be key,
Someone who will tell me when I err,
Someone we can argue and still share a kiss,
Someone to make my fantasies true,
Still, soothe my heart with assuring smiles.
