The Dawned Truth

I thought I had the future,
For I was promised success,
Just as always and previously.
Good grade and a nice course.
So I could just idle away.
Then the worst happened.
They ratted on me.

The system changed abruptly,
The principal got demoted,
The minister went home.
New reforms,new faces.

I had kissed off reading,
So I could just lie around,
Thinking I would get exams earlier.
But I got disappointed,
I managed only a few scripts.
Time had come for me to face the fire.

I waited eagerly for the results,
And I was surprised with them.
I'm happy the whole school failed.
So did the whole country.
So I had aplace to lean on,
Teachers to blame for.

I got an E for excellence,
And last week I got an admission letter,
To pursue ,
masonry in the newly opened training institute.
Not in town but in the village.
I'm still excited because we're many.
Though I doubt if I will manage,
For I think even the E wasn't mine,
But a favour I was granted.
